Call for Abstracts
The 2014 call for abstracts for the TOPHC program is now closed.
TOPHC includes an exciting mix of both research presentations that share new knowledge and educational workshops that build and refine practical skills.
TOPHC aims to advance public health in Ontario by increasing the knowledge and skills in the workshop and invites front-line public health professionals, such as health promoters, epidemiologists, public health nurses, physicians, researchers, policy-makers and other groups to register.

TOPHC 2014 is accepting abstract submissions for the following formats:
90 minute workshop
Format description: Workshops will be 90 minutes in length including time for discussion and questions, and will allow for a presenter or team of presenters to provide skill development, professional development, or a more in-depth presentation on a relevant public health topic. The format must be interactive and allow a significant amount of audience participation.
90 minute panel discussion
Format description: Panel discussions (including debates) will be 90 minutes in length. Twenty minutes should be allowed for a dialogue with the audience. Panels/debaters should ideally consist of three to four participants. Goal of a panel is to provide various points of view on a selected issue or in-depth discussion on a convention theme.
Format description: Accepted posters focused on a research or evaluation project will be grouped, and an author will be asked to present a 5 minute summary of their poster in one of the concurrent session rooms. Posters will be clustered where possible.
15 minute research presentation
Format description: A concurrent session will consist of no more than four different concurrent presentations each being 15 minutes maximum. It is recommended that concurrent presentations include a maximum of two presenters, through additional team members may be available to respond to questions during the discussion period. Presentations should be no more than 10 minutes in length to allow for questions or comments from the audience. Time limits will be enforced to allow for audience participation.
