CME Accreditation

The TOPHC Program Committee is pleased to announce that as per TOPHC 2011, an application has been put forward so that TOPHC 2012 sessions may qualify for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits with both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and the College of Family Medicine of Canada, as determined by the University of Toronto’s Centre for Continuing Professional Development.

If you wish to receive CME credits for your attendance at the convention, you will need to do three things:

1. Keep track of the sessions you attend
2. Complete the paper-based workshop evaluation provided at each   session, and
3. Complete the online TOPHC evaluation form at the end of the convention.

After the convention, all registered attendees will receive an email asking them to evaluate the event by completing an attached evaluation form.  If you wish to obtain CME credits, you must complete this evaluation.  If you do not receive the email evaluation within two weeks of the convention’s end, please contact Ian Johnson at ian.johnson@oahpp.ca

The online evaluation will ask if you would like to obtain CME credits.  If you answer “yes,” you will be asked for your name and email address, and will be asked to indicate which sessions you attended.  We will tally these sessions and send you a letter by email indicating the number of study credit hours you will receive.

FAQs – CME Accreditation

1. Can I earn CME credits for attending TOPHC?

Yes, you can. In order to collect your CME credits, you must:
  • Keep track of the TOPHC sessions you attend
  • Complete the paper-based workshop evaluation provided at each session, and
  • Complete the online TOPHC evaluation form at the end of the convention.

2.  How do I register for getting CME credits?

You may register when you complete the online evaluation sent to you by email once TOPHC has ended. Please note that you must complete this evaluation; you will not be able to collect your CME credits otherwise.

3. Do I have to complete the online evaluation after TOPHC to receive CME credits?

Yes. This is when we will be asking you to indicate which sessions you attended.

4. Do I have to give my name and email address during this section of the evaluation?

Yes, we need your name and address to send the letter to you. If you have privacy-related or other concerns, please note that we store registrants’ names, email addresses and CME credits separately from the session evaluations. Your anonymity will be protected.

5. What happens if I do not receive the post-convention email notice and evaluation?

If you do not receive the evaluation within two weeks of the convention’s end, please email Ian Johnson at ian.johnson@oahpp.ca.  Ian will verify that you were registered for TOPHC and send you the appropriate email link.
