TOPHC 2012
The Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC) is hosted jointly by Public Health Ontario, the Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA), and the Association of Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa).
The 2012 Convention will be taking place at the Sheraton Centre Downtown Toronto Hotel from April 2 - 4, 2012.
We're looking ahead for to 2012 with this year's theme: Staying Ahead of the Curve.
Over the course of the convention, each day will be dedicated to addressing one of TOPHC's goals and objectives.
Day 1: projecting the potential future directions of public health in the next five years
Day 2: exploring the dimensions of performance in public health
Day 3: investigating the impact of new and different practices in public health and exploring innovations in interdisciplinary and intersectoral relationships in public health
Day 4: post-convention workshops — group work, information sharing and skills development on specific topics
TOPHC aims to advance public health in Ontario by increasing the knowledge and skills in the workforce and attracts government stakeholders from local, provincial and federal levels, and front-line public health professionals, such as health promoters, epidemiologists, public health nurses, physicians, researchers, policy makers and other groups to register. TOPHC includes an exciting mix of both research presentations that share new knowledge and educational workshops that build and refine practical skills.
